(Note: On all block diagrams the letters indicate the fabric style and the numbers indicate the template number.)
To Make Blocks I, III, VII and IX
Cutting:
Refer to Figure 1 and photo Template #3 - Cut 4 identical motifs from fabric H
Template #2 - Cut 4 identical motifs from fabric G
Template #1 - Cut 8 from fabric B
Template #4 - Cut 2 from fabric A and 2 from fabric B
Assembly:
Step 1 - Using fabrics cut from Templates #1, 3 and 4 and referring to Figure 2 make 4 of unit Z.
Step 2 - Assemble block following Figures 1 & 3, assembling half blocks first, then joining the two halves as shown. Match and pin center carefully before sewing. You might want to baste just the center together before sewing and check it for a good match, then sew the final seam.
Step 3 - Repeat cutting and assembly steps for 3 remaining blocks.
To Make Blocks II, IV, VI and VIII
Cutting:
Refer to Figure 4 and photo Template #2 - Cut 4 identical motifs from fabric E
Template #5 - Cut 4 identical motifs from fabric D
Template #4 - Cut 4 of fabric J
Assembly:
Step 1 - Follow Figures 4 & 5 and assemble each half block then sew half blocks together, carefully matching and pinning centers. You may wish to baste just the center of the block together before sewing and then check that the center matches and sew final seam joining the 2 halves of the block together.
Step 2 - Repeat cutting and assembly steps for 3 remaining blocks.
To Make Block V
Cutting:
Refer to Figure 6 Template #2 - Cut 4 identical motifs from fabric F
Template #3 - Cut 4 identical motifs from fabric G
Template #1- Cut 8 from fabric B
Template #4 - Cut 4 from fabric C
Assembly:
Step 1 - Referring to Figure 6 for fabric placement, piece block following assembly instructions for Blocks I, III, VII, IX, - Steps 1 and 2.
